Rebar and Dowel Bar

The excellent corrosion resistance of stainless steel rebar and dowel bars eliminate the risk of structural damage due to rust and the costly refurbishments that can arise as a result.

When compared with the costs associated with the use of carbon steel, stainless steel can reduce total lifetime costs significantly.

Stainless UK are CARES approved for processing stainless steel reinforcing bars and hold large stocks of stainless steel rebar manufactured to BS6744: 2001.

The strength physical characteristics for stainless steel rebar are Yield Strength - 500 N/mm2 , Ultimate Tensile Strength - 550 N/mm2 , Elongation - 14%

The two grades of rebar held in stock are:

Grade 304 S31 (1.4301) suitable for most atmospheric and concrete covered environments.

Grade 316 S33 (1.4436) the recommended grade for marine and corrosive environments.

Stock lengths vary from 6.0 to 6.4m and bars can be supplied cut to any length. Bars are available bent according to the shape codes given in BS 8666:2005. Threaded ends with ISO metric threads to BS 6343: 1981, tolerance class 8g in lengths up to 1000mm can be supplied for fixing applications.

Grip-Rib has been developed as a high strength, high bond alternative to conventional reinforcement which is not always available at short notice. Manufactured from Stainless UK´s high tensile strength feed stock, Grip-Rib is available as high strength, 650N/mm2 or standard, 500N/mm2 in 304 or 316 grades. It conforms fully to BS6744 2001 Grip-Rib is particularly advantageous when used in the large diameters, for capital projects. The cold-formed deformations provide a particularly consistent rib pattern which makes for easy three dimensional bending.

Dowel bars are normally made from plain round steel. They are cast or drilled into concrete and are used to transfer loads across joints in concrete. In applications where movement is expected, the dowel bar is cast in one side and de-bonded in the other side of the joint.

A full range of accessory products are available including square backing plates, nuts, washers, tying wire, end caps and de-bonding sleeves.

NUOVINOX is a stainless steel clad rebar with a carbon steel core. It is manufactured using a patented “green” process which results in a metallurgical bond during hot — rolling between its durable outer stainless steel cladding and its carbon steel core. NUOVINOX is designed to optimize stainless steel´s very high corrosion resistance with high-tensile carbon steel´s superior yield strength performance and elastic modulus characteristics at prices significantly lower than an equivalent solid stainless steel.
