Stainless Steel Nyloc Hexagon Nuts
DIN 985 specifies low profile (Type T) prevailing torque hexagon nuts incorporating a non metallic nylon insert.
Commonly referred to as Nyloc nuts, they are designed to resist loosening under vibration.
Applicable Standard
- DIN 985 – Low profile prevailing torque hexagon nuts
- ISO 10511 – Superseding international standard (generally interchangeable)
Material
- A2 Stainless Steel (304): A2/50 A2/70
- A4 Stainless Steel (316): A4/50 A4/70, A4/80
- Insert: Nylon (polyamide)

M5–M48.
Specific Features
- Nylon insert applies controlled friction to the mating thread, helping to resist loosening caused by vibration and dynamic loading
- General fastening
- Suitable for tightening using conventional spanners or sockets
Performance
- Suitable for external, corrosive, and marine environments
- Compatible with stainless steel threaded rod systems

Installation Notes
- Suitable for general and corrosive environments depending on material grade
- Generally considered single use
