Made from durable nylon, they are primarily used as an insulating barrier to stop electrolytic corrosion between dissimilar metal fasteners (e.g., stainless and ductile iron).

Material

Polyamide 6.6 (Nylon 66).

M16–M42.

Specific Features

  • Flat flange and a cylindrical sleeve, resembling a top hat
  • Vibration Damping: Helps reduce noise and vibration within assemblies
  • Colour: Typically natural white / off white (other colours available on request)

Performance

  • Prevents bimetallic corrosion between dissimilar metals
  • Resistant to corrosion, moisture, most solvents, petroleum products, and diluted acids
  • Non rusting and non conductive

Typical Applications

Used as an insulating barrier to stop electrolytic corrosion between dissimilar metal fasteners.

Limitation (optional)

  • Not suitable for high temperature applications
  • Not intended for high load structural fastening where metallic washers are required
